Terms of Service

These terms govern your use of Lumen, the automatic time-tracking service available at autotimetracking.com and through our desktop applications. By creating an account you agree to them. They are meant to be read, so we have kept them short and in plain language.

The service

Lumen automatically records activity on devices where you install and sign in to the desktop app, syncs that data to your account, and produces reports for you and any workspaces you belong to. You need an account to use the service, and you are responsible for keeping your credentials secure and for activity that happens under your account.

Trials and billing

  • New workspaces receive a 14-day free trial with full functionality. No payment method is required to start.
  • When the trial ends without a subscription, tracking pauses. Your data is retained and tracking resumes when you subscribe.
  • Subscriptions are billed per member per workspace, monthly or annually, to the workspace owner on a single invoice. Adding or removing members adjusts the charge on a prorated basis.
  • Payments are processed by Stripe. Prices may change with at least 30 days’ notice, taking effect at your next renewal.

Workspaces

A workspace owner administers members, clients, rates, and billing for that workspace. Owners and admins see aggregate hours only, as described in our Privacy Policy; they do not gain access to members’ raw activity. Members may leave a workspace at any time, and their personal timeline remains their own.

Your data

You own the data you track. We claim no rights over it beyond what is needed to operate the service: storing, syncing, and processing it to provide features you use. You can export your data at any time and delete it as described in the Privacy Policy.

Acceptable use

Do not use Lumen to break the law, to interfere with the service or other users, to attempt unauthorized access to our systems, or to track a device or person without the consent required where you live. You are responsible for complying with employment and monitoring laws that apply to your team.

Cancellation and termination

You can cancel your subscription at any time from workspace settings; service continues to the end of the paid period, and no further charges are made. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms, and we will tell you why unless the law prevents it.

Disclaimers and liability

The service is provided “as is.” We work hard to keep it accurate and available, but we do not warrant that tracking will be uninterrupted or error-free, and reports are not a substitute for your own judgment on what to bill. To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim arose.

Changes and contact

We may update these terms; material changes will be announced by email at least 30 days before they take effect. Continuing to use the service after that constitutes acceptance. Questions: legal@autotimetracking.com.
